


| CHILDCARE GROUPS Butterfly Babies Age 3 months to 1 year. The baby nursery is beautifully decorated and equipped with matching cots and bouncy chairs. Stimulation is provided with a range of books and toys. There are a number of pushchairs and prams available for use outside or where babies prefer to be rocked to sleep. The babies also have their own feeding room. Staff ratio = 1:2 Yellow Little Ladybirds Age 1 year to 18 months (depending on stage of development). This room is linked to the Butterfly Baby Area by a gateway and contains facilities for playing and sleeping. Food and drinks are taken in the separate Feeding Room. Red Little Ladybirds Age 18 months to 2 years (depending on stage of development). This room is situated in the main body of the nursery and with archways and fencing has a good view of other areas. It is well equipped with stimulating toys and books. Snacks are taken in the Feeding Room while lunch is eaten in the Dining Area with the Busy Bee group. Busy Bees Age approximately 2 to 3 years. The room is fully equipped and with archways and fencing has a good view of other areas. The main archway leads into the art and technology room and a further archway leads into the sand/water play area. There is a home corner and a variety of educational toys and games. Dragonflies Age 3 to 5 years. The pre-school children have a spacious open area equipped with tables, chairs and a home corner. The area is adjacent to the library allowing the children to access various resources such as books and a computer. The Letterland scheme forms the basis of our literacy skills programme. Whilst the Jolly Phonics scheme and Oxford Reading Tree initiate the children into the joys of reading. |
